WALVOIL AT THE 14th EDITION OF THE INTERNATIONAL FLUID POWER CONFERENCE IFK IN DRESDEN

Umissable biennial event for the world of Fluid Power, the IFK, International Fluid Power Conference was held in Dresden last March 19-21.

Walvoil also participated with its own paper entitled: 'Assisted driving midi-excavator for augmented performances and improved safety'.

The paper, produced in collaboration with the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia, was co-written by Andrea Cervi (speaker), Alberto Rocchi, Francesco De Martino and Fabio Tedeschi - Walvoil, and Cesare Fantuzzi - Unimore.

The objectives of the study on driver assistance are mainly two and concern:
- improving safety conditions of the driver and the people around him;
- increasing driver well-being maintaining high standard level of the work made.

The first makes it possible to have an increasingly safe work area, in which the operator benefits from these systems, which are useful in preventing problems and accidents, given that repetitive and/or very long work is often performed over time, and during which the operator's attention may be reduced.

The second improves the quality of work performed (even with a less experienced operator) so as to have a better overall efficiency also in terms of energy used for a given task, and thus reduce the environmental impact.

The study on driver assistance functionality promoted by Walvoil started in the field from a mini-excavator; the technology used can be applied to other machines and for different fields of application and uses.
